Ingredients:
- 2 ready-made pie crusts (or your favorite homemade version)
- 4 medium apples (peeled, cored, and sliced thin)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter (cut into small pieces)
- 1 egg (optional, for brushing the crust)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Fill with the apple mixture.
- Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
- Cover with the second crust. Crimp the edges and cut a few slits in the top for steam to escape. (Kids can use cookie cutters to make fun shapes!)
- Optional: Brush the top crust with a beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!
